Lake Superior College Truck Driving
Lake Superior College’s Truck Driving program is a customized series of courses that meet Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements.
Class A license: considered the “universal” CDL, providing the opportunities for driving several different types of commercial trucks and tractor trailers weighing over 10,000 pounds.
Class B license provides opportunities for driving several different types of commercial trucks and tractor trailers weighing under 10,000 pounds.
In order to obtain a CDL, you must first complete the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Theory course mandated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). After you have completed the Theory course, and you have secured a drivers permit, and all other prerequisites are met, the next step is to enroll in the Range and Road Behind the Wheel Training.
