The Minnesota Motorcycle Road Guard law was enacted in 2012. It authorizes motorcycle road guard certificate holders to stop and control traffic for motorcycle group riders. Drivers of vehicles stopped by a flagger may only proceed if instructed by a flagger or police officer.
The Road Guard Certification course is three hours and includes practical training at a live intersection near the training site. Individual cost is $30. We also offer group training at $250.
- In order to participate in this training, a Motorcycle Road Guard Certificate applicationmust be completed and sent to Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS). This application must be received three weeks before the training session. Applicants must bring their approval letter to training.
- Participants are required to bring a completed waiver form to participate in this course.
